I won 3rd Place at the Sackets Harbor 2012 Plein Air Competition with this oil painting of the local ice cream shop. In 2009, I entered the competition and had painted this same composition and guess what....won 3rd Place. So, since this was a popular scene for collectors, I decided to recreate it, on site, again in 2012. It reminds me of all the ice cream flavors: pistachio, vanilla, black raspberry, etc. I had lots of fun painting it....even a second time.Tuesday, July 31, 2012

I won 3rd Place at the Sackets Harbor 2012 Plein Air Competition with this oil painting of the local ice cream shop.
