Last winter, I looked outside on a sunny, crisp day and saw these shadows on my backyard hill. They looked like someone had painted them onto the hill with a brush in horizontal stripes. Matthew's red shed, at the top of the hill, was brilliant against the white snow and purple-blue shadows.Today, it is November 1st, and usually our first snow in Rochester falls around the 8th. So, I thought this was an appropriate piece to add to my blog. Makes you want to put a sweater on, doesn't it?
I painted this in water-soluable oils and it measures 5"x7".
