This little girl is Mitski, the beloved pet of my friends Fred and Sammie Birdsall. They brought Mitski to my home to visit me and Jim one summer, and I took this photo. I started painting a different piece in a larger format years ago, but I wasn't happy with it, so I put it away. Recently, I decided to revisit the photo and start again. This time I painted the piece smaller....it measures 8"x8" and I am pleased with the result.
