Peek-A-Boo

I was driving at dusk the other day, and saw these incredible colors peeking though all the woods on my street. I memorized the "essence" of the scene and today, I painted it from memory.

The colors were unreal, and made me actually say out loud...."wow". They struck me as eerie yet beautiful at the same time.

I painted this in acrylic over a textured base.

Florida sunset with palm

I finally painted over an existing surface that fits into an old frame in my Florida cottage. I decided to stick with the "tropical" theme and paint a tall palm near the water's edge at sunset. Very cliche.....I know. But I love it.
The medium is acrylic and the frame is gold wood. It measures 40" tall.

Sunset, Mendon Ponds

I wanted to portray the sunset at Mendon Ponds with intense color to express the drama which I experienced at the park. I painted this piece with rich, very dramatic colors and values and is framed in a gold wood with a white linen liner. Lovely!
