August 5 - 8, 2009 We stayed in Saugerties, NY in an 1930's brick B&B. We discovered this little cove where a lonely sailboat was anchored. We later found out the water was the Esopus Creek. Jim read his book in a chair by the water as I painted this oil. I debated whether I should insert additional boats because it looked so alone. But, I decided that the loneliness of the view was what had inspired me to do the scene.
