Abstract - Farm on the Hill

Farm on the Hill was a blast to paint! I created all these textures which developed into sections that looked just like "farmer's fields." The colors are rich and warm, and everywhere you look there is another interesting texture or shape. It is framed in a copper colored metal frame under glass and matted. It measures 11x15.

Rene's Old Ford

My plein air artist friends and I painted on Rene's farm near Livonia, NY. Although she had pigs, chickens, sheep and several outbuildings to choose from, I was drawn to this old Ford truck, all twisted and rusted. The natural beauty of the lovely blue and yellow flowers growing directly in front of it showed a sharp contrast to the heap of man-made material.

I painted this in oil and it measures 10"x10".
